TKO Teeks top 5

Philly's top boxing photographer Mike McGuigan, better known to you as TKO Teek put down the camera and stroked the keyboard putting together is top 5 list of fighters on a national level. Take a look and let him know what you think, like any pound for pound list, there is always room for debate. So does Teek have what it takes or do we need to get him a wider lense?. It's your call, let us know what you think.

5. Shane Mosley 44-4 37 ko's This might be a stretch but I think Shane did just enough To leap frog Jermaine Taylor and Israel Vazquez to slide into the top 5 lb for lb. in 2006 Shane had 2 over whelming knock out victories over a very tough Fernando Vargas. To start 2007 Shane completely out classed Louis Collazo over 12 Rd's to claim the wbc welterweight title.

4. Joe Calzaghe 42-0- 31ko's In 2006 Calzaghe stamped his ticket into the top 5 with 2 no doubt about it 12 unanimous decisions over Jeff Lacy and Sakio Bika to improve his record to 42 wins with no defeats. Over the past yrs Joe's opponents have had a combined record of 106 wins 3 losses and 2 draws.

3. Bernard Hopkins 47-4-1 32 ko's - If Bernard wasn't at this stage in his career he might have been #1 on this list. in 2006 the 42 yr old teacher Bernard Hopkins did it again. he moved up to light heavyweight and completely out classed the bigger, stronger, younger legend kill Antonio Tarver In a 12 round one sided ud. talk about a legend Bernard is a hall of famer in waiting..

2. Welterweight Floyd Mayweather jr. 37-0 24 ko's - In all reality I was very tempted to move Floyd down a few more spots on this list but out of respect for his record I will leave him at #2 . In 2006 Floyd really didn't do anything to stake his claim as the best fighter in the world. he won a 12 round ud over a very game zab Judah. and then he went on to win a 12 round ud over Carlos Baldomir in wich he ran the whole fight. I Ranked the Mayweather, Baldomir the worst fight I've ever seen.

1. Super featherweight Manny Pacquiao 43-3-2- 34 ko's - In 2006 Manny captured the public eye in a big way. He went 3-0 with 2 ko's of Mexico's pride and joy Eric Morlas. he also found time to completely dismantle good Mexican fighter Oscar Larios over 12 rounds to win by ud. Manny is the most entertaining fighter in the business today, and now that he can use both hands to do damage the future is looking really bright for the 28 yr old Philippine fighter.
