MARCH 30TH
PHOENIXVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL
YORGEY VS WAYKA
Phoenixville, Pa----“Lightning” Harry Joe Yorgey comes into this fight with a 17-0-1 (8 KO's) record. He had a very busy 2006 that included 8 fights and a shot at the IBC World Title, which ended in a draw against Martinus Clay back on November 9th. His last fight was on November 30th at the Valley Forge Convention Center against a tough and determined Jeremy Yelton. That fight was voted as the Pennsylvania 2006 fight of the year!
The upcoming Yorgey fight in Phoenixville promises to be a classic! Yorgey goes up against well tested James Wayka out of Mounds View, MN. Wayka brings a respectable 14-5 (8 KO's) into this fight. He has big wins over previously undefeated Mohamed Ali (6-0) and a very durable and experienced Frank Toledo who was 43-6 going into the fight with Wayka. Yorgey promises to please the Phoenixville crowd in this one as he goes for another victory which will bring him closer to bigger fights and world wide recognition!
Phoenixville‘s, Jules Blackwell 4-0 (2 KO’s), a product of the Phoenixville Area PAL program, and a 1999 Phoenixville High School graduate will be looking to make a big impression on his hometown fans as he swaps punches with tough Philly fighter Omar Carroll. Carroll brings a modest 0-1-1 record into this fight. Don't let his record fool you. Carroll comes from a very talented gym of fighters and is trained by Kevin Carmondy, who you may remember from our big PAL amateur boxing shows in Phoenixville, puts out very solid, and well trained boxers! This will be a very entertaining fight as Blackwell looks to stay undefeated in his young professional career.
There will be 6 other bouts on this card, including up and coming undefeated Heavyweight, Travis Kauffman 8-0 (6KO‘S) , from Reading, Pa. Kauffman was among the top three amateur boxers in the nation before turning professional. Also, outstanding female boxer, Olivia “The Great” Fonseca, who is making her pro debut on the card as well as Manayunk’s Joey Demalavez 5-2 (3KO‘s).
