photos by Mike McGuiganThey were fighting again on the corner of Swanson & Ritner at The New Alhambra but this time it was under the Dee Lee Promotions & Rich Clark's Prime Time Entertainment promotional banner. The mastermind behind this very entertaining seven fight card was Sonny Mistretta who as usual put together even matches where you get to see some upsets, knockouts and toe to toe battles. The main event featured two solid junior middleweight prospects as Philly's Derek "Pooh" Ennis went up against Pittsburgh's Alphonso "Soldja" Williams. Pooh flashed a lot of skill but Williams proved to be Steeler tough and this one ended in dramatic fashion. In the co-feature South Philly's Joe Christy and Clarence "Sonny Bono" Taylor of DE faced off for the third time in their career and this one picked up right where they left off last year by beating the crap out of each other for 6 rounds in a fight that has to be the front runner for fight of the year in 2007. Earlier in the day, Dhafir "No Fear" Smith had to bust his tail to make this official as his opponent Jonathan Reid's team were playing it by the book being sticklers on the contracted weight. No Fear took those frustrations with him to the ring and gave the former contender 6 rounds of hard work in a fight that surprisingly ended in a split decision. Simon "One Punch" Carr and Andre Hemphill got back together for an anticipated rematch. Hemphill's supporters were guarenteeing and knockout while Carr's camp said it was time for redemption. There were good moments from both fighters in this one and in the end it went to the score cards. West Chester Heavyweight Anthony Gatt returned to the ring after some time off and took on Raymere Palmer who came in at just under 200lbs. Gatt needed only :47 second to get the win and put him name on the radar of a couple other heavyweights in our town. Light Heavyweight Reuele Williams made some noise over the past year in Maryland and was now looking to step it up in the fight capitol of the world. His assignment on this night was the rugged Ray Ruiz from the Harrowgate Gym. This was a nice, rough fight and Williams showed he has some tools in his arsonal. In the opener, Philly's Moises Calderon and Stephon Alexander of Virginia let the sparks fly and had the crowd on their feet in the opener. Calderon wa getting the best of it early, then Alexander pulled off a stunner. Scroll down to get the play by play with videos and pictures. Be sure to leave a comment too!

Derek "Pooh" Ennis..vs..Alphonso "Soldja" Williams
Philadelphia............Pittsburgh, PA
12-1, 9kos..............9-2, 8ko's
This was a very interesting match pitting two fighters with very good records and knockout power against each other. Derek Ennis is a fighter with goals of making it to the top and while not much was known of Alphonso Williams coming into this, it didn't take long to realize that he brought his hard hat and was ready for a tough days work.
In the opening round, Ennis circled, popped his jab and effectivly countered Williams, taking a punch and delivering two and three in return. Ennis picked his spots for most of the round but Williams did get some good punches of his own in at the end. It broke down into a fight early in the second with both fighters standing inside and exchanging rights and lefts. Williams looked to work inside but Ennis would counter with hard two and three punch combos upstairs. Williams stayed game but it started to look like he was outclassed in this one.
In the third, Ennis stopped circling and began to stalk Williams. Ennis would walk him down and fire away as Williams tried to fend him off with right hands. The fight went back to the center of the ring where Ennis rocked Williams with a left hook that knocked the Pittsburgh native back a step. Ennis stayed on the attack and looked to be going in for the kill, then ::bam:: the Soldja landed a huge counter left hook that put Ennis down hard. Ennis got to his feet around 9 but referee Shawn Clarke waved it off. Many in the crowd were left stunned as Williams ran around the ring screaming to the fans "I'm the shit!"
Winner: Alphonso Williams who raises his record to 10 - 2, 9ko's

Junior Middleweights
Joe Christy..vs..Clarence Taylor
South Philly.....Wilmington, Delaware
7-11-3, 2ko's....12- 11-2, 6ko's
In the rubber match of a great series, Joe "Kid Viscious" Christy squeaked out a very hard fought, tooth and nail split decision over Clarence "Sonny Bono" Taylor in a wildly exciting fight. It was one of those fights that you could debate forever. Do you like the guy who lands the harder punches or do you prefer the guy who dictates the pace with his ring generalship and lands at a higher rate? Wait a minute, did I just put Joe Christy and ring generalship in the same sentence? Yes I did, and its a testament to his corner who had him well prepared for this fight. I love Bono as a fighter but I have to go with Kid Viscious in this one.
In the opening round, Christy who is known for some wild brawls actually kept the fight at a steady pace by working his jab and moving around on Bono who looked like he wanted to get busy really fast. Christy also mixed in some nice body shots when the action went along the ropes. Bono did manage to get in a hard, short left that snapped Christy's head back late in the round.
The second was more of the same with Christy fighting the smart fight, using the jab and ripping in some hard body punches while Bono would manage to land some hard single shots that split Christy's guard. The fight was going at a very good pace but you knew it was only a matter of time before these two went for juggular and that is just what happened in round three.
In the 3rd, Bono switched up to southpaw and began to really lay into Christy. He chased Kid Viscious around the ring and landed left after left for a full minute. Just when it looked like Christy was about to get knocked down, Christy went Jackson street on him by taking his best then grabbing Bono, throwing him into the corner and talking smack into his ear. It is not the most technical move in the book but it worked. Christy went back into Bono's chest and mixed in hard body shots with big uppercuts that had Bono reeling. Then, just when it looked like Bono was in deep trouble, he turned it back on and landed some powerful overhand rights to finish the round. The crowd was on their feet and everyone clapped in appreciation of the effort of both men.
Rounds 4 through 6 were more give and take trench battles that could have gone either way. Christy was much more active and landing to the body at a high rate but when Bono landed, he really landed and there was another spot in the 5th round where it looked like Christy was going to meet the canvas. Going into the 6th both men seemed to know the fight hung in the balance and they went to war standing toe to toe throwing the best they possibly could. When the final bell sounded, both fighters jumped on the ropes in celebration. When to scores were tallied, they were split reading 58 - 56 once for Bono but the other two judges over ruled by scoring it 58 - 56 for Joe Christy. Bono grabbed the mic and proclaimed highway robbery but did say he would honor a request to allow Christy to fight for his WBC title that was not on the line.
Winner: Joe "Kid Viscious" Christy who improves to 8 - 11 - 3, 2ko's

Dhafir Smith...vs...Jonathan Reid
Philadelphia........Nashville, TN
17 - 16, 4ko's......34 - 6, 19ko's
This was another interesting match pitting the WBF champ Dhafir "No Fear" Smith against Jonathan Reid of The Contender season 1. Reid's camp were looking to make him a big name in The City of Brotherly Love but many others were hoping to see one of our tough journeyman run him right out of town. If you think Dhafir Smith is just an easy opponent, you are making a big mistake especially when he is fighting around the 168 lb mark. There was some hype coming into the fight about the Contender coming to town but when it came time to get it done, there wen't many fireworks.
For most of this six round fight, Smith pick his spots and used his left hook the weapon of choice. Smith did this for the first five rounds with Reid not offering much back in return. Reid did pick up the pace in the sixth but it was too little too late. The fight went to the cards and they were split read 58 - 56 once for Reid but the other two judges who weren't senile saw it 58 - 56 for Smith.
Winner: Dhafir "No Fear" Smith who improves to 18 - 16, 4ko's

Simon Carr.........vs......Andre Hemphill
South Philadelphia.........Virginia
4-1, 3ko's.................6-6-1, 3ko's
This was a rematch of the 2006 fight where Andre "Da Heat" Hemphill came to Philly and gave Simon "One Punch" Carr hos lone career loss. Carr was looking to restore some of that lost luster while many others were saying Hemphill was going to put him out once and for all. Feeling he was robbed in the first fight, Carr entered the ring wiht a ski mask and a shirt saying Rob Me Now! Hemphill on the other hand seems to have become popular with the fight fans as he gained a rare applause for an outside fighter when his name was announced.
The first round was a rugged one with Carr coming out strong looking to make a statement throwing hard hooks to the body as Hemphill tried to tie him up and neutralize Carr's power in the early going. Carr kept at it and threw more hooks the the head and body. Hemphill was was able to get the fight in the center of the ring towards the end of the round and tried to work the jab but Carr sat in the pocket and intercepted a good number of them. Hemphill had a better time in the second round where he was able to use his height advantage and slip in those jabs as Carr continued to try to force his way on the inside. It startes to get rugged at the midway point where both fighters fire off hard punches to the inside, quite a few were borderline low on both ends. Whrn the bell rang both fighters were in each others ear before walking to the corner. Hemphill has a good third round, he stayed working off the jab as Carr continued trying to get on the inside. Hemphill caught Carr with a straight left that seemed to stagger him some. Carr was able to hang on and continued to fight on as Hemphill started to mix in more left hands. Cominginto the fourth it was a close fight. Carr changed it up some and instead of rushing inside, he boxed effectively and picked his spots. Hemphill was aggresive and looked to land some big punches but nothing landed flush. Carr circled, jabbed and tied up when neccesary. The final bell sounded and it went to the cards which read 39 - 37 in favor of Hemphill while the other two saw it 38 - 38 for the majority draw.

Anthony Gatt.........vs......Raymere Palmer
West Chester, PA............Virginia
4-0, 3ko's...................pro debut
Heavyweight Anthony Gatt returned to the ring after 3 years off and needed only :47 seconds to dispatch Raymere Palmer, dropping him twice, once with a short right then finishing him off with a left. Though Gatt has been out for a little while, other management teams had their scouting books out and hope to take on the West Chester native in the near future.
Winner: Anthony Gatt who improves to 5 - 0, 4ko's

Reuele Williams.........vs......Ray Ruiz
Wilmington, DE................Philadelphia
4-1, 2ko's....................6-5-3, 4ko's
The pre fight hype was saying that Ray "Superstar" Ruiz was lighting things up down at the Harrowgate Boxing Club but his opponent Reuele Williams team was also confident their guys abilities as they very close to fighting former amateur star Tiger Allen a few fights back though it fell apart at the last minute.
Reuele showed some very good skills in this fight and Ruiz showed he still had something left in the tank despite being 39 years old. Williams started off the fight working his jab and occasionally following it up with straight rights as Ruiz seemed to be a bit gun shy at first. Williams became more physical in the second round, bring the work to the inside at a good pace and finishing the round with a nice 3 punch combo that staggered Ruiz. This seemed to get Ruiz motivated because he came back in the third, finally moving forward and throwing punches. One of those right hands of Ruiz caused a cut over Williams right eye. Reuele was bleeding he wasn't discouraged as he rallied down the stretch to make a close round out of it. The 4th round went at a steady pace with Williams going back to the jab, straight rights and using more movement as Ruiz looked to get inside and bang with his bigger foe. Overall, Williams showed he could be a good challange for other light heavys in the area and Ruiz did show heart andthat he can take a good punch. The fight went to the cards and they read 40 - 36 x2 and 39 - 37 for Reuele Williams.
Winner: Reuele Williams who improves to 5 - 1, 2ko's

Featherweights
Moises Calderon.........vs......Stephon Alexander
North Philadelphia...............Virginia
pro debut........................pro debut
This was a very exciting way to start the show though it got a little scary at the end. Both men were making their pro debuts after succesful runs as amateurs and these guys went right at it from the beginning. The leather was flying and it looked like Calderon was on his way to a first round knockout when he blasted Alexander with a short left followed up with a straight right that has Alexander staggering and litterally holding on to Calderon to avoid going down. He was saved by the bell. In the second Calderon went back on the attack and the fighters let it fly again. After a short lull in the action, the slugfest went against the ropes and Alexander landed a flush straight left which put Calderon down to the mat. The force of his head hitting the canvas kept Calderon down for a few minutes but like a true Phily Rumbler, he was able to walk off under his own power and his team assured everyone that he is alright.
Winner: Stephon Alexander who improves to 1-0, 1ko

that was money well spent. when is the next show?
Good job like always Keith. Dee Lee is pretty hot, hook me up!
that christy fight was nothing like the fight from last week.. the bronco fight is fight of the yr hands down!!!! from your partner tko teek
Word around boxing is that Greg Robinson is scared to put Big Poppa against Ray Ruiz. Ruiz beat up on Big Poppa at a sparring match, he got beat so bad that Greg Robinson refused to pay his sparring fee! Come on Greg, are you really that afraid that Big Poppa is going to get knocked out again! By a 40 year-old! Greg needs to have some more faith in his fighters!Big Poppa VS Superstar - November 2nd ~ MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Anthony Gatt looked like a star in the making. No heavyweight in town has knockout power like he does. I think he is going to be the best of them all. He probably scared everyone off.
Chuck,
Anthony Gatt fought a guy making his pro debut who didn't even weigh 200 lbs. I didn't see anything all that earth shattering. Of all the fights that night, it seems that he was the only one under a protective umbrella. Everyone else had equal opponents making for competitive fights. He must be really tight with the matchmaker. I would hold off on all the pomp and circumstance until he fights a REAL opponent.
As for the Ray Ruiz hype. That would be a good match between 2 sub-par boxers. Ray looked like a statue in his fight last Friday, and Big Poppa ain't no prize either. I do like the suits though. He definitely got the threads down pat.
As for Dee Lee being hot, well, no comment.
KUDOS to Dee Lee / Primetime for one of the most entertaining cards so far this year. Can't wait until Sept 21.
That is too bad about Ennis he was leading the whole way. Where does he go from here?
RAY RUIZ,THS MAN IS A FUCKING BUM!!
HE CAN NOT FIGHT AT ALL.. STOP TALKING ABOUT A GUY THAT IS 40 YEARS OLD AND IS 6-6 WITH 1 KO.
HE ONLY BRING'S 4 PEPOLE TO THE FIGHT'S WITH HIM.. THIS GUY NEED'S TO HANG IT UP BUDDY...
COME ON GATT! THIS GUY IS NOTHING! HE LOOKS BIG THAT IS IT - PUT HIM IN THE RING WITH BRUNELLI- AND GATT WOULD GET KILLED! AS FOR RUIZ TALK, THE GUY AINT BAD AT ALL - HE WAS RUSTY - BUT BIG POPPA SHOULD DEFINTELY GIVE HIM A SHOT! GREG ROBINSON WONT DO THAT THOUGH. FIGHT OF THE NIGHT GOES TO THE 2 GUYS FROM THE 1ST MATCH MAKIG THEIR PRO DEBUT! SPEAKING OF PRO DEBUT WORD AROUND TOWN IS AN UPCOMING KID KNOWN AS TONY "BOOM-BOOM" FARANTE ~ LOOK OUT - BIG UPS TO TEAM BRUNELLI PICKING THIS KID UP! GREG ROBINSON THIS SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT CARD:
DAVE BRUNELLI VS MARK BROWN
TYRIC ROBINSON VS GABRIEL NAVARRO
ISAAC SUAREZ VS CARLOS DIAZ
TOMMIE SPELLER VS RAY RUIZ
DAVID WILLIAMS VS TONY FARANTE
SIMON CARR VS ADAM HARRIS
GRANT CUDJOE VS ANTHONY GATT
PUT THAT FIGHT CARD TOGETHER!!!
I have a good card: Here you go Philly Keith your new DREAM CARD!!!
Steve Cunnigham VS Tim Johnson
Chaz Witherspoon VS Joey Abell
Chucky Cavallo VS Max Alexander
Dave Brunelli VS Mark Brown
Eddie Chambers VS Malik Scott
Rasheem Brown VS Joseph DeMalavez
Lajuan Simon VS Omar Pittman
Yusaf Mack VS Gee Culmer
Anthony Thompson VS Joe Christy
Rock Allen VS Kaseem Wilson
Gabriel Rosado VS Tyrone Brunson
NOW THAT IS A DREAM CARD FOR PHILLY
The fight i am hoping happens is Steve "USS" Cunningham kicking the shit out of that boy from Cleveland Darnell "ding a ling" Wilson!By the end of the fight Darnell will be in the fetal position holding his ding a ling! GO PHILLY FIGHTERS!!!!
I dont know this Ruiz guy either except when i talked to him after the fight -- he is cool as shit! Give Ruiz that fight against Big Poppa!
Why is every1 hatin on Big Poppa he had 1 bad nite. Guess u forget how he was knockin muthafuckers out before that! Ruiz is just who he needs to get back on the map bring that shit.
give props to ruiz for fighting reul williams in his comeback fight. williams is now 5-1, winning 5 straight. ruiz aint fought in 3 years and took on a decent looking prospect. in his last 2 fights williams ko's to baltimore fighters in their hometowns, heny mayes (who was 5-1 at the time and ko'd kareem robinson) and nick carleo who was 3-0. i also heard tiger allen was supposed to fight williams a few weeks ago and backed out scared. so give ray some props.
That fight isn't going to happen. We don't need Ruiz at all. He's 40 with an opponent record at best and knocking him out really does nothing for us. He'll be lucky if he gets another chance to ever fight again. So tell Ruiz to have a coke and a smile.
hey greg ... fight reuel williams then, i am sure sonny could help ty on this
Steve Cunningham vs Tim Johnson? WTF
Steve Cunningham is on a whole other level than Tim Johnson! It is not even close! As for Big Poppa he is not bad at all. He had one bad fight, but if this fight with Ruiz was to happen that would be a good match! And if Ruiz loses, then he can fight in a wheelchair league and sit back and just have a "coke & a smile"! I like that Greg! I wanna see the fight now just cause of all the hype! I would pay to see it!
Greg if Ruiz is a bum - then why dont Big Poppa fight Reuel Williams? Why did they put Ray in the ring with a guy like that in his comeback match after 3 years! He should have never been in the ring with him. He should have been fighting one of your bums like Big Poppa or Khalil Farrah!
Sean - Friend of Ruiz!
Greg Robinson is one funny guy with a short memory. It was his guy looking at the lights at his last fight. Ruiz fought a tough fighter and hung in there. Big Pooper fought an opponent picked by Robinson and got KO'D!! Ruiz gains nothing fighting a stiff.
I think it is time for a Philly Kieth interview with Big Poppa to see what really happened with this Ruiz charactor
And an interview with Ruiz also! You cant interview someone that got beat up they are just going to have an excuse!
Whats your Excuse Big Poppa?
Your buddy Greg wont let you?
You are still sore from the sparring match with Ruiz?
OR you are scared?
"Man Up" - isnt that the term you used Murphy! In Philly we Man Up to any challenge!!
~ SEAN
Here's a fight card - we get Damon Feldman involved and have:
Big Poppa Vs Daisy D or Tonya Harding! And Ruiz is old so he could fight Tony Danza! But you cant win a fight Ruiz if you dont throw any punches!
Philly Keith --- have you heard anything - When are they going to be fighting again at the Spectrum? And who is Joey Abell's opponent from South Philly - come on man give us a hint!!!!
Levon Warner was being recruited to fight Abell but that is off. I heard they are at the graveyard now looking for a new opponent. I don't know anything of a Spectrum show. If this is going down I will put the word out. THANKS FOR READING AND KEEP ON COMMENTING!
-PK
Joey Abell needs to fight Aaron Lyons!!!! Pay the guy good money and get him back up here. I think Lyons will knock him out again!!!!!!
Thats the second time Levon backed down from Abell. When's he fighting again? I saw his trainer is now training John Poore. Who by the way looked weak in his last fight. I hope he looks better in his next fight, or it curtains for him. Shit, here's an idea, have John Poore fight Joey Abell. That'll never happen. He'll be fightin tomatoe cans for the next few months. Why don't Sam Brown fight Abell? They're both on that card without opponents.
Sam Brown VS Abell - now that is a good fight! Abell will win though-- Sam Brown is on his way out!
This is great! I love Philly fans! This is the only place that people talk shit on the fighters that are nobody's and get other people involved -- no talks about Ennis getting knocked out or Simon Carr- but yet it sounds like the guy that lost Ruiz is what's on everyones mind! F it five Ruiz a shot - believe me i have seen worse fighters get chances! how about Derek Ennis 's brother VS Ruiz!
Two fighters came back from long layovers, Gatt and Ruiz. Gatt goes against a debut fighter and takes care of business like he should have. Ruiz goes against Williams, A fighter Tiger Allen's camp made certain to avoid, and takes him to the cards.
Ruiz just wasn't ready for Williams, point blank, otherwise the whole fight would have been like round three and the judges would have had a tougher time scoring.
Take nothing away from Williams of course, anyone there could see why that tiger fight fell through.
UPDATE! The Philly Keith fans have spoken, Joey Abell will be fighting Levon Warner at The Blue Horizon on September 7th!!!
UPDATE #2 - Sam Brown will be fighting Ran Nakash (8-0)at The blue on Sept 7th.
Some thoughts about Derek Ennis. Derek was easily handling Williams, but I think he got a little careless. It happens to the best of us. Complacency is a fighter's worst enemy. As for Farah Ennis, he also has excellent skill, and will be a fighter to watch. Anyone with the last name Ennis has a good chance of being properly schooled in the sweet science. They come from a rich family tradition of prize fighters.
I think there's alot of talk about these other guys, because there's an actual possibility that the fights could happen. The fighters that don't get talked about are on a predetermined path of opponents from whom most are from out of town, and have no local impact. It's fights like Brunelli vs Mark Brown that get the local fans excited. Here's 2 guys from our backyard with good records going head to head. There's gonna be fans from both sides interested in this fight, and that's what makes it great. I believe this fight is the first one to become reality off of Keith's Dream Card. If only we could get some of the others to follow suit. How exciting would it be to watch that Dream Card? Who wants to watch a local 15-0 or 20-0 fighter beatup "whats-his-name" from "God Knows Where".
Sam Brown is gonna smoke Ran Nakash. Good Luck SSG Brown, I'll be rootin for ya!!!!!
Hoah!!!!
Philly Keith who else is on that card so far on September 7th? And who is Promoting it?
There is also a good fight card at the New Alhambra on October 5th ~ Russell Peltz Fight!
Omar Pittman - light middle (14-3)
Mike Jones - welterweight (9-0)
Victor Vasquez - lightweight (4-1)
John Poore - heavyweight (18-2)
and two big welterweights:
Michael Stewart VS Robert Frankel
Now that is a card - good job on that one Peltz! Be seeing you on the 5th of October!
The Blue Card on the 7th is promoted by Vernoca Michaels. Here is the scheduled line up, don't go to the bank with this one just yet because people have been falling off left and right. Right now it looks like
Abell (15-1) v. Warner (6-4)
SSG Brown (4-2) v. Ran Nakah (8-0)
Alex Perez (8-0) v. Darien Ford (11-14)
Steev Chambers (14-1) v Jason Jordan (4-12)
Gee Culmer (10-1) v James North (8-17-2)
Naji Murray (1-0)v. Jeremy Lester (1-1)
Paul Fernandez (1-0-1)v. Jonathan Ocasio (pro debut)
Steve Chambers is 14-1 fighting a guy 4-12? Wow!!!!!!! I can't wait for that exciting matchup! That should be the main event! Steve is really testing himself. I mean compared to the guys he's been fighting, this really is a step up.
SSG Brown CHECK THIS OUT!!!!

--“Rendezvous With Destiny”
You're not serious????
That was a hoot!!!!
I'll tell you what I want to see that kid Calderon from the opening bout fight again. True he got caught bad but he looks like he could have the potential to be in some great fights. Almost had his guy out in the 1st.
Yeah sorry Keith but that fight on the 7th doesnt even compare to what Russell Peltz put together for October! Not even close - yeah some big name fighters - but they are fighting bums! They might as well put Ray Ruiz VS Tommie Speller that would be the fight of the night!!
Ray Ruiz would kill Tommy Speller! He needs a win though so maybe he should fight Big Poppa and then try to fight Ennis(younger Ennis)! As for that Boom Boom kid he is an amateur isnt he? Is this kid ever going to step up to Pro? I heard about him, good things.....but is it all HYPE!
Does Greg Sirb even look at the records of the fighters when these cards are drawn up? the blue card has three fighters with a combined record of 32-2 v. three with a combined record of 23-43-2. Thank God for promoters like those that ran the card at the alhambra on 8/24/07. Almost every fight evenly matched (except Gatt).
Give PK a little credit I am sure he knows that the Peltz card will blow this one at the Blue out of the water. Russell almost always has an evenly matched line up. I just wonder how much Mike Stewart has left in the tank.
Yo Philly Keith - I dont know if you know, but i know a little something about Dave Brunelli that you might not know! You said that Witherspoon is helping out Oaktree, well do you know that an ex champ as well is helping out Brunelli! I dont wan tto say who, but he once caught a headbut from Evander Holyfield and had a huge knot on his head!!
GO TEAM BRUNELLI! Oaktree dont have nothing for you!!!
Well that narrows it down. Now let me think of all the people Holyfield has headbutted? Wait, it would be easier to list the one's he hasn't. Nope, that don't work either. How many fights has he had? Oh, you mean RAHMAN!!!! No way! Nice.
man! i would love to see how good "any" so called fighter would do at "40" coming back from a 3 year lay-off against such a seasoned fighter like ruelle williams? Mark my words,'BE AFRAID!" cause, reulle himself felt just a touch of the"superstars" power! people that call"RUIZ" a bum, should be men enough to step up & prove it so! BE SCARED! Soft biaatches! talk is cheap!
fellous, ruiz seems to be somewhat ticked off! i can't wait to see his next fight. can't take nothing away from a guy at his age to make such a comeback against such an apponent. i kinda feel bad for the next guy that he fights! by the way he looked great for his age.
YOU ARE 40 YEARS OLD. YOU GET PAID LIKE 500.00 DOLLAR'S A FIGHT. IT IS TIME TO GET A JOB.....YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET ANY REAL MONEY...
AT 40 YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TRYED BOXING. BUDDY YOU GOT A F IN THIS CLASS.
DA SUPER LOSER(YOUR NEW NAME)
I can't believe that people are still talking about this Ruiz guy. He made a comeback from a lackluster career, and is still nothing special. The dude stinks, and that's all there is to it. Big Poppa stinks too, so don't think I'm taking sides. To the average boxing fan, most fighters do look OK, but to the people who know the game, we know that these 2 are nothing. I just wanted to be the 50th poster. Philly Keith should fight one of these guys!!!!
joe christy was awsome..fight video is up on youtube. can't wait for your next fight almost time for the belt!
Anyone watch the Contender last night? Max Alexander looked like a favorite! He got pick to move on and then when they split up the teams into two he got picked first! Wonder how far he will make it - he should do good though in five round mathces! As for Ruiz - man dont listen to these people keep doing your thing man! Yeah your 40 so what - i will tell you - you dont look 40 - if you still feel good then keep fighting man dont let nobody hold you down man!
This is yours truly, Big Poppa! I am so tired of everyone talking about this Ray Ruiz guy! I sparred him about 2 months ago and he was a bum! Dis dude did so bad i actually left a couple of rounds into it! He was awaste of my time! He is okay for a 40 year-old, but if he wants a match then lets get it into talks! Stop Talking and start throwing - something you didnt do in your last match Supastar!
~ Big Poppa
Oh Man ---- we finally got through to Tommie "Big Poppa" Speller! He stepped up to the challenge of Ray! Greg Robinson needs to do this fight - that is all we hear about are these two! I say who cares about ticket sales or money - i just wanna see these 2 go at it now after all this talk - Ruiz you better come through now! Let this match happen! Come on Philly Keith - get the interviews going on these two! This could be a career match - the loser has to retire!
BIG POPPA STILL DOESNT HAVE AN OPPONENT TO FIGHT ON NOV 2ND - GREG ROBINSON MIGHT AS WELL GIVE RAY A CHANCE --- IF HE DONT IT IS CAUSE HE IS SCARED THAT HIS GUY MIGHT GET KNOCKED OUT AGAIN! I WOULD PAY TO SEE THIS HYPED UP MATCH!
Yo Philly Keith i was just checking out your back stage pictures -- Man those card girls are SMOKING! Why can't these promoters get those ring card girls! Those girls at the New Alhambra's last show looked like they brought then right off the street! Philly Boxing is the best -- so let's make it even better and get some hot card girls!
I say! Since "Big Pooper" & his promoter "Greg Robinson" say, that Rey Ruiz should retire! let's make the match between the two a "RETIREMENT MATCH"! Who ever loses, retires & loses his pay! Let's see how game you are? time to put up or shut up! let's see who's the real bum?
The SuperStar RJRUIZ...
Hey Philly Keith! I see you know a great person that I haven't seen in many years! "Teddy" was there when the world class trainer "Hector Rocca" was trainning me at Gleason's in Brooklyn, NY. tell Teddy, he's alway's been a great person to me & I wish him the best!
P.S! Hector! Made a champ trully yours, The SuperStar RJRUIZ...
The fight that should be made is Ruiz v. Khalil Farrah. Forget Speller because Robinson will never let his man fight Ruiz. Speller is on his way out w/another ko loss. Ruiz v. Farrah would be a good match.
sonny bono? what happened ? couldnt put up that belt? had all that mouth! yea and we really know who won that fight and should have christys belt! bitchas
